Ok guys, so campaigning is a huge pain in the you-know-what but since it is the best way to get votes, I am going to give you a few tips from what I learned last time around. Who knows, maybe you will even have fun!

Do’s
-Do think BIG! Involve your community, local newspaper, radio, and student organizations; you would be surprised how many people are willing to help out.
-Do be nice to everyone, even if you know they won’t vote for you, it doesn’t hurt to be polite and you don’t want to come off looking like a total jerk.
-Do get your friends and family involved. The more people you can get on the site the better.
-Do add a lot of new content. No one wants to come back and vote for you if they are looking at the same stuff every day.

Don’ts
-Don’t get dirty. Talking badly about other contestant’s only makes you look bad and makes all of their friends cranky.
-Don’t be boring; think of something fun to write on people’s walls that with capture there attention. A simple “vote for me” usually won’t cut it. Same goes for your community, people don’t want to help out someone who doesn’t make a splash!
-DON’T TYPE IN ALL CAPS. Some people might think you are yelling, and no one likes to be yelled at.

Dude, it's been too long. We are so psyched for round 2 of VR2. It's comin' back atcha Monday! With all the stuff you like about VR -- campaigning, digs, comments, clips, and an awesome Grand Prize.

So if you're a semi-finalist, get ready to get busy. And if you're not, get ready to be popular, because our 27 semi-finalists are gonna be McLovin' you up all next week and beyond. The first challenge of Round 2 will end at midnight Friday (July 25).

We'll announce the second challenge the next day, and submissions will start on Monday (July 28). The top 10 finalists (based on votes for both challenges) will move on to Round 3.

What's your favorite campaigning tactic?

Hi everyone! It's me, Whitecup. After Rush’d I got an internship with ABC Family! So I packed up, moved to Los Angeles, and here I am!

Interning at ABC Family has been awesome. It’s really weird going from someone who checks out the ABC Family and Virtual Rush sites all the time, to someone who can contribute input into how the Virtual Rush site should work and look. I am also involved with a project to help promote the Plain White T’s new album and that ain’t bad at all for a lowly intern like myself. The coolest part about this experience is that my boss is really open to letting me hang out with different departments and projects. It’s nice because I am really starting to figure out what kind of job would be a good fit for me when I graduate. I can’t believe I’m this old already!

A project I am really excited about is helping to create the Virtual Rush contest for next season (VR3). As someone who has participated in the contests, I want to make next season great.

Any ideas on how you want the next contest to work? Anything goes....
