My Internship

Hi everyone! It's me, Whitecup. After Rush’d I got an internship with ABC Family! So I packed up, moved to Los Angeles, and here I am!
Interning at ABC Family has been awesome. It’s really weird going from someone who checks out the ABC Family and Virtual Rush sites all the time, to someone who can contribute input into how the Virtual Rush site should work and look. I am also involved with a project to help promote the Plain White T’s new album and that ain’t bad at all for a lowly intern like myself. The coolest part about this experience is that my boss is really open to letting me hang out with different departments and projects. It’s nice because I am really starting to figure out what kind of job would be a good fit for me when I graduate. I can’t believe I’m this old already!
A project I am really excited about is helping to create the Virtual Rush contest for next season (VR3). As someone who has participated in the contests, I want to make next season great.
Any ideas on how you want the next contest to work? Anything goes....

I love VR, my favorite part about the site besides the Greek theme which Im obsessed with, is that so many people on here are into art, acting, theatre and so on. So all the challenges like that are a good idea. I also like the idea of being able 2 display more stuff on our profile pages. Your a great role model with how far u've come! Congrats. -
Your picture is so cute! It must be awesome working with ABC.This site was very helpful to me when i was going through recruiting.I was able to get on VR and ask people that were at those schools questions and it really helped out. So thank you VR.I like a lot of Chase's ideas and even though I love watching the amazing talented videos, I feel this site would have had a lot more participation if it were more like the 1st season when it was more geared towards the average student. Most of the people on here are not on here as a door to break into the business.For some, like me it is a chance to meet and get to know others and about their school's.I play volleyball and love the fact that when traveling i will have the chance to meet people at the games that I've talked to on here.I competed because i wanted the chance to do what you did,get to meet the cast and see how things are on the set. I love the show! I like the idea of having a most school spirit corner where we can show off our school. -
I think there should be something having to do with poetry. Maybe like creating a poem on a whim or something like that. Congrats on ur internship, btw. -
That is awesome that you got an internship at ABC Family. I think the Plain White T's things sounds like lots of fun, can't wait. As for next season, I agree that letting us do less specific ones help to show our personility more, and also like how we got to create our own character throuhg out the whole thing. I think you should bring back Fan Voting!! -
WOW!! Talk about living the dream! That is insane but so awsome! I'm green with envy I'll admit it! hehe. I was wondering if VR2 is going to continue...I was looken forward to trying to get to be next finalist! Well keep us posted! As far as next VR whatever it is I hope it is just as fun, I love watching the videos, I like the less specific ones so we can really be creative like king and queen of spring and create your own character. -

Umm, im not sure if i have any great ideas for the contest...Maybe have people post a special talent they have? Like on a video....? Im not sure if you guys had to do anything like that, haha bc i just came on to vote for you. Anyways.long post. First of all...what about the rest of VR2, is it ever going to happen?? But as for a VR3, I have a few ideas at the top of my head right now. First of all, some sort of team competition would be fun. Where each week, teams are chosen by VR to complete challenges. This would lead to people meeting new people, interacting, and collaborating. Secondly, how about sending us on scavenger hunts and film it, or have us showcase our town in pics and vids and have the winners get an actual special on them and their town like they did in Rush'd. One final idea is probably the hardest to do...more prizes, more prizes, more prizes! And I definitely agree with Chase that the site should be featured more on ABC family with VR users featured. Also, I am not a fan of the grand prize for this season, I think people who participate on the site should be the only people eligible to win. I don't like the idea of having someone bring 3 friends who most likely know nothing about the site. But that's enough from me, let's get VR2 back running! -
Hey there WhiteCup! First off I want to say congrats on the Internship : ) I just have a couple of ideas for the site. [1] I do like the idea of showing winners for the previous week on the actual show. Maybe during the middle commercial break. I think it would be a great thing for the winners, but more importantly bring more traffic to this site... [2] I like the judging aspect of this year. It is good for people who get into the show late and then join the site. On the flip side I do like the voting because it adds the flair of the people who make up the site. I think there can be a fair balance. My suggestion for this is a people's choice winner or winners for each week. This would bring in the voting in without handicaping those who find out about the site and contest late... [3] Prizes would be cool for little side challenges that are associated with the main challenge or like Chase said for a set hottest pic, funniest pic, etc... [4] An overall hidden challenge that is hidden in the episodes of "GREEK". It might be a stretch, but you said anything goes. For example, Casey wore yelllow and then something in Alanna's blog links to that and you have to go to Alanna's page to find another clue so on and so forth... [5] Finalist to L.A. again. I think that was a cool deal for y'all to make it out there and get to meet each other and the cast and crew... [6] RUSH'D/Virtual Rush on ABC Family. Here again is another strech, but what if they had a short time slot on ABC Fam devoted to Virtual Rush and RUSH'D highlighting the videos and the people on the site and how the 6 finalists lives had changed after L.A.... That's all for now, but I'm sure I'll think of more! Hey again great job and I hope you enjoy every bit of the Internship!!! -
Wow CONGRATS on your internship wish I was able to do something like that! Some ideas I have and the one that I would love to do would be where each of us make up our own character as who we would want to be if we won the VR challanges. I also love some of Chase's ideas as well letting the students vote on certain tags each week and giving aways free Greek prizes for those who are the big or popular Greek fans on VR. Some of these things I feel would get even more people intrested in the site and I believe that more people would be inclined to tell their friends about the site and get them to join. Hope this helps a bit! -
OK Miss Whitecup! 1st of all HAHAHA I busted out laughing!! anyways I have a few ideas on ways to make this site fun again. The problem is that not everyone likes to make videos and compete and all that, but they do like to take part. So Idea #1 have a section on the home page that labels profiles with tags like (funniest,diva,sexi est,gorgeous,handso me,flirt) this would not come from a vote but from fav. pic.s or something like that.#2 Have say the profile making the most comments featured on the show with a lil 3 sec. (here's our featured profile for the week).People like to see them self's on the boob tube.#3 Give out Greek prizes (hoodies,t-shirts,d vd's)In separate contest like for funniest pic. of the week or most Greek spirit.#4 recognize the sites biggest fans,maybe even host a Greek party at there school.#5 Let us form our on co-ed fraternity houses with people off the site and compete against other formed houses not so much for a prise but for home page recognition for that week. I still think voting brought the most people to the site and created the most chatter.. But there def. needs to be the page on here that shows who votes for you and how many times.(this allows anyone off the site to keep track of anyone not playing fair and turn then in ) also that persons vote count would need to match up with the people vote count on there page.. OK that's a lil confusing but in my head i know what I'm talking bout lol ...and my last idea is that the videos should scroll on the home page,most new comers don't even know what the site is about or how to view the videos. This will cause one of two things ..#1 it will scare them off do to the talent being something most can't compete with or #2 they will have talent and want to join in... OK these are just my ideas and suggestions.I still have a ton that i could share but I'll stop there lol -
OMG! Your internship sounds SO cool!!! Congrats girl! I didn't start VR2 till the 3rd week so i missed the super hero contest and i wish i hadn't because that one looked SO fun. So anything like that is really cool I think. Also the make up your own character was def my favorite thing we did so far. It was so cool and I think it makes u pay extra attention to the show so u can think of creative things.So more stuff like that for vr3 would be cool. All in all i love VR, this site is amazing! :^)

Some awesome stuff is on the way. Like ... you'll get sneak peeks at "Greek" Season 3 Monday, August 25th, when the final entries in VR2 come rolling in. The finalists are creating original promo spots for "Greek," using exclusive new clips, their own fun content AND the new tune from the Plain White Ts, "Natural Disaster"!
You'll get to vote for your fave spot once a day for a week starting Monday, August 25, and ending Sunday, August 31. The winner takes all -- the Grand Prize of four walk-on roles on "Greek" plus a trip to Hollywood.
If you could promote just one thing about "Greek," what would it be? The romance? The laughs? The looks? You tell us!

I was laughing hysterically at work while watching some of your awesome videos. But only 10 people will make it to the next round ... who do you think should be the finalists -- and why?
